Bank Holiday Monday: May 27th 1-5pm

In support of the National Garden Scheme charities.

It is very special occasion this year as a result of the competition run by the English Garden Magazine in summer 2019 where visitors were encouraged to vote for their favourite NGS garden. To our great surprise, we were thrilled to learn that we had been voted the country’s favourite garden in the East of England. Whereupon we were given a large plaque. We are honoured that Helen Nollis the Lord-Lieutenant of Bedfordshire has very kindly agreed to unveil it at 2.15pm.

This is a general Open Day and the Garden will be in all its late spring glory dripping with climbers such as clematis, honeysuckles and early roses as well as lovely herbaceous borders and wonderful peonies, poppies and maybe foxgloves. There will be local craft displays with dye plants and materials, a kokedama workshop (plants in moss balls) and a talk on bees; all free. Stevington honey will be on sale. We are also very pleased to welcome Dan Evans who will play folk melodies and original compositions on the dulcimer and guitar.

There is no need to pre-book. Entrance to the garden is £6 per Adult. Accompanied under 16’s Free. The entrance monies will go direct to the National Garden Scheme charities. Tea and homemade cake will be available with tea monies in aid of Sue Ryder at St John’s Moggerhanger.
